2009 – 2010 was a busy and exciting year in third grade. The students received two Sacraments. They made their Reconciliation on December 5th, 2009, and made their First Holy Communion on May 1st, 2010. Another highlight of the year was the third grade wax museum. Each student researched a famous American and wrote a report. As a culminating activity, they portrayed their famous American. Parents and guests were invited to view the mini wax museum.
Following are some other academic achievements from the year.
*Learning to multiply and divide.
*Memorizing the Ten Commandments.
*Working in groups.
*Writing in cursive.
*Composing haikus, narratives, and hink pinks.
*Reading lots of novels.
*Learning about the solar system.
*Looking up Bible verses.
*Reciting nine digit numbers.
*Exploring states, landmarks, and other cultures.
The students would like to thank Father Jim, Mrs Rozgo, the faculty, their parents, and families for all their prayers, help, and support this year.
Parents, please remind your children to read and write every day this summer. Get him or her a Journal to record the day’s events. Plan weekly trips to the library. Practice multiplication facts on those long car trips. Fourth grade is only weeks away. Have a great summer!
