CLASSROOM NEWS:
During the month of March the second grade class worked on summarizations. The class read the book Junie B. Jones is Captain Field Day by Barbara Park. Students then worked in groups of three to summarize one portion of the story. One group summarized the characters traits of Junie B. while the other groups worked on summarizing one chapter of the book. Each group created summaries in both picture and written form. When this classroom work was completed, the second grade headed off to the computer lab to create a PowerPoint presentation of their summaries. Each group created one slide which included their picture and written summaries. We are now working on merging these slides and adding our voices to create a wonderful summary of the entire book. Working as a team has accomplished one amazing presentation.
