Meeting Minutes
May 12, 2010
I. Call to order
Melissa Vallone called to order the regular meeting of the St. Mary PTC at 7:05pm on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 in Franciscan Room.
II. Roll call
The following persons were present: Mrs. Judy Rozgo, Melissa Vallone, Lori LaBine, Laura Gardella, Jeannine Prucha, Sara Woods, AnnMarie Chesla, Mrs. Wolski and Mrs. Pignotti.
III. Opening Prayer
Led by Melissa Vallone
IV. Welcoming of New Officers
Melissa Vallone welcomed Sara Woods as the PTC Vice-President and AnnMarie Chesla as PTC secretary for the 2010-2012 term.
V. Secretary’s Report
Jeannine Prucha read the minutes from the March 17th meeting.
VI. Treasurer’s Report
Laura Gardella reported a balance of over $11,000 for the PTC account. The year-end gift to St. Mary School will be determined after all expenses have been paid.
VII. Principal’s Report
Mrs. Judy Rozgo reported on several items:
a) Two new teachers have been hired for the 2010-2011 school year. Mr. Tim Cyborski will teach Reading, English, and Spanish to the Junior High students and will be an 8th grade homeroom teacher. He will also serve as the school counselor. Mrs. Heather Wasicki has been hired full-time as the junior high math and 6th grade homeroom teacher.
b) The musical, “Bye, Bye Birdie” was a huge success. Thank you to Mrs. Hinsdale for all her time, dedication and hard work.
c) St. Mary School has received a grant to purchase new technology, called “E-Beams”, to be used as an instructional tool in the classrooms.
d) Plans for the Picnic are under way. Thank you to Mrs. Jawor and Mrs. LaBine for their great planning for a very organized picnic.
e) Planning continues for next school year. There are currently 437 students enrolled this year and there are 472 students for the 2010-2011 school year.
VIII. President’s and Vice-President’s Report
Lori LaBine reported that plans for the picnic are wrapping up and there are 103 volunteers signed up to help.
Flyers for the end-of-year teacher collection will be placed in the students’ Friday Folders this week and will be in the Thursday Packet next week as well.
Melissa Vallone went over the new PTC Handbook, Calendar for 2010-2011, and reviewed the roles and responsibilities of the Chairs for PTC events.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm.
