St. Mary School PTC Minutes: May 12, 2009

The meeting was called to order by Jennifer Martino at 7:04 p.m.

Secretary’s Report
The minutes from the March meeting were read by Jeannine Prucha.

Treasurer’s Report
Margaret Regan announced the PTC income summary for September 2008-May 2009:

Market Day: $8,874.08
Hot Meals: $7,500.00
Paper Recycling: $1,835.44
Box Tops: $1,357.75
North Eastern Eagle: $127.85
Total: $19,695.12
Current Balance: $14,693.09

President’s Report
• Jennifer Martino welcomed Melissa Vallone as the new PTC president and Laura Gardella as treasurer for the 2009-2010 school year.
• The end of year teacher gift collection was announced in this week’s packet.
• Nancy Wirth and Annette Siwinski reported progress on the end of the year picnic. The entertainment is a variety act that has been sponsored by MBLO. They are looking for Big Wheels and tricycles to be used for games at the picnic. This will be the last year that they will be chairing this event.
• The change in Hot Meals and how it will affect PTC contributions was discussed.

Principal’s Report
• Principal Judy Rozgo announced personnel changes for the next school year. Beth Cunningham will become part-time assistant principal. Heather Wasicki has been hired to teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math part-time with Barb Wanner still teaching 7th and 8th grade Algebra. A new 5th grade teacher has been hired and all other faculty will be returning next year with the exception of Lisa Seposs who will be moving out of state.
• Mrs. Rozgo thanked the PTC for the sweets basket that was given to the teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week.
• “The Beauty and the Beast” play was a great success and there will be a write-up in the local paper soon.
• End of the year events are under way including the 8th Grade Banquet and graduation.
