Gloria Janousek is a graduate of Quincy University. She began her teaching career in the Chicago Archdiocese at St. John Fisher as a second-grade teacher. Her husband’s career change prompted a move to Ohio where she resided for fifteen years. During that time she returned to the University of Toledo, where she completed the requirements for an Ohio teaching license. She was the technology teacher at St. John the Baptist School in Toledo for ten years, where she began the computer program. Mrs. Janousek served as the technology teacher at St. Mary School for twenty-three years and now works part-time here as the STEAM lab coordinator. During this time, along with her computer responsibilities, she has taught junior high Math, Religion, Literature, was part of the Assistant Principal team and spent one year sharing the responsibilities of acting principal with Mrs. Lindley. Currently, she is a member of ICE (Illinois Computer Educators) and iCollaboratory from Northwestern University. She has a strong commitment to Catholic education and advancing STEAM at St. Mary School.
