Our Mission Statement


St. Mary School, a ministry of St. Mary Parish, is a Catholic elementary school which is called to carry out the mission that Jesus began, by living our faith through serving God and one another. We provide a nurturing environment where faith, education, and moral values are promoted and reinforced. Through cooperation and partnership with each family, we prepare our children for the future with spiritual and academic excellence that cultivates their belief in Jesus Christ.

Catholic Identity
Goal I: To recognize, foster, and exhibit our role in carrying out God’s will
Objectives:
1. Celebrate the unifying school wide theme: “Bee-lieve in J.O.Y.”
• Focus on J.O.Y. – Jesus 1st trimester, Others 2nd trimester, Yourself 3rd trimester
• Student led prayers of J.O.Y. on P.A. each morning
• Each classroom will incorporate the theme
2. Implement Kids 4 Jesus program
3. Provide meaningful Faith experiences throughout the year
4. Promote a sense of Christian community with Faith Families
5. Encourage acceptance and tolerance of differences in each other
6. Demonstrate Christian values by the practice of polite and respectful manners and behaviors.
• Reinforce Positive Behavior Interventions Program
• Implement changes in PBIS program

Curriculum
Goal II: To develop critical thinking through engaged learning
Objectives:
1. Expand Tail Waggin’ Tutors Program through grades 6
2. Implement Response To Intervention through a Teacher Assistant Team
3. Provide opportunities for continuous Staff development
4. Provide school counselor on staff for students
5. Implement new strategies in differentiated instruction
6. Implement summer school program
7. Offer multi-grade cooperative activities with Faith Families
8. Expand Spanish program in grade 7 and 8 to five days a week
9. Expand novel study in grades 4 – 8
10. Expand staff to support student development

Technology Integration
Goal III: To utilize technology as a seamless tool across the curriculum
Objectives:
1. Update all computers to Office 2010
2. Integrate eBeam interactive white boards in grades 1 – 8 classrooms
3. Provide opportunity for faculty and students to work together in computer lab
4. Communicate with parents via School Reach, TeacherEase, weekly e-packets, and website
5. Arrange individual faculty meeting time to ascertain technology needs
6. Subscribe to Education City K – 5 to enhance Math and Reading

Community
Goal IV: To strengthen community relations through outreach and active involvement.
Objectives:
1. Involve students in social justice service projects
2. Invite community leaders to speak to our students
3. Invite community members to be Mystery Readers in grade 1
4. Student Council will participate in the “Wreaths Across America” program to honor veterans
5. Modify after school Service Club for grades 5 and 8
6. Art, Band, and Swing Choir students share their talents out in the community
7. Foster responsible independent actions and manners.
8. Increase Social Justice awareness locally and globally.
9. Expand our school community through open house and adding another new classroom of students every year
