Mrs. Soltys is a 6th-grade homeroom teacher and teaches 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Social Studies. She enjoys teaching students about people and cultures all around the world, reinforcing why we should “Love Thy Neighbor.” Mrs. Soltys is a Catholic school enthusiast, having attended St. Turibius grammar school, Mother McAuley High School, Loyola University Chicago, and St. Xavier University Chicago. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Loyola and her Masters in Education and Elementary Teaching Certificate from St. Xavier. Before teaching, Mrs. Soltys enjoyed a successful 30-year broadcasting career in Chicago. She taught Radio Programming at Columbia College. Mrs. Soltys also taught speech and communication classes at Loyola University Chicago and she still serves on the Board of Advisors for Loyola’s School of Communication. Mrs. Soltys and her husband have two children who attend Providence Catholic. She feels very blessed to be a part of the wonderful SMS family.
