Grade Six Mrs. McGinnis

Mrs. McGinnis is new to the SMS staff this year. She is excited to return to teaching as the Junior High Science and 6th Grade Homeroom teacher this year. Mrs. McGinnis has two children at St. Mary School, and her third will be joining soon! Her family joined the parish two years ago when they moved to Mokena. Mrs. McGinnis attended Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School, where her passion for science began. She then continued her private education at Quincy University, where she played softball and received her undergraduate degree in Special Education. Soon after, she began her teaching career at Naperville North High School, teaching Science and Language Arts for five years.  During that time, she also received her Master’s in Education (Reading Specialist) from Saint Xavier University and her Associates in Medical Assisting from Keiser University.  Mrs. McGinnis is excited to start her journey at SMS and hopes to share her passion for science with her students, along with her deep-rooted faith in God. Her goal is to help students become lifelong learners.
