Grade Seven Mr. Minix

This is Mr. Minix’s first year at St. Mary School. Mr. Minix grew up in the west suburb of Carol Stream and graduated from Valparaiso University with a B.A. in History and Secondary Education. After college, he was a substitute teacher and then taught ESL (English as a Second Language) abroad in South Korea for six years. After that, Mr. Minix was a seminarian for the Diocese of Joliet for five years. During seminary, he earned a Bachelor of Philosophy degree (which he likes to call a “Ph.B”) from the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio. He then studied graduate-level theology at Mundelein Seminary for two years, then was on Pastoral Year at St. Raphael parish in Naperville. After discerning that God was calling him out of seminary, Mr. Minix was hired to teach Middle School Religion at St. Mary School. He is looking forward to being back in the classroom and sharing the love of God with his students.
